Rare Earth Mud, ASC Arthouse, Croydon, UK. 2023.

A museum exhibit ghosted by and ancient mind.
A collection of sculpture which exist between times – as ancient depictions of now and as contemporary imaginings of the remote past.

It is relatable content skimming the surface of the deep pool of the past.
It is a filter, applied to the amorphous gargantuan mass of prehistory. It is the entangled thoughts of generations written in emojis.

Made from clay dug from a hillside in South London, the work takes on the guise of a museum display of neolithic artefacts discovered at Oldbury Hill.

This fictional account describes a correlation between the objects and an abundance of rare earth metals within the clay deposits. A satire alluding to an origin story for contemporary digital society, dressed as relatable content.
